Lithuanian MPs indignant about prime minister's statements in Brussels

Lithuanian lawmakers are surprised over recent statements made by Prime Minister Algirdas Butkevičius, saying that Vilnius' reservations about Italian candidate for the EU foreign policy chief were President Dalia Grybauskaitė's personal opinion.
Lithuanian President Dalia Grybauskaitė, who is leaving for the European Union (EU) Summit on Wednesday, says that the EU's new foreign policy chief should be neutral in conflicts and possess experience in foreign policy.
Lithuania will not back Italian Foreign Minister Federica Mogherini's candidacy for the position of EU high representative for foreign affairs and security polity, Lithuanian Prime Minister Algirdas Butkevičius said on Tuesday.
