“The actions of Remigijus Žemaitaitis, member of the Seimas of the Republic of Lithuania (&) are in conflict with the Constitution of the Republic of Lithuania. By these actions, Remigijus Žemaitaitis, member of the Seimas of the Republic of Lithuania, has broken his oath of office and grossly violated the Constitution of the Republic of Lithuania,” the Court said in its ruling voiced by President Gintaras Goda.

The Constitutional Court's judgement is final and cannot be appealed against.

Following the ruling, the Parliament is expected to decide on the impeachment of Žemaitaitis in the near future.
