Ex-presidents of Central, Eastern Europe to mull historic lessons at intl Kaunas forum

An international Baltic – Black Sea Forum will take place in Kaunas, Lithuania, on March 10, bringing together historic leaders of Central and Eastern European countries, Lithuania's Vytautas Magnus University said.
Vytautas Landsbergis, Lithuania's first post-independence leader, and former President Valdas Adamkus were presented with the Freedom Prizes on Friday as the country marks the 26th anniversary of a bloody 1991 Soviet crackdown on its independence drive.
There will be no thaw in the energy dialog between the EU and Belarus until Minsk proves that the nuclear power plant it is building not far from Vilnius is safe, EU Energy Union Commissioner Maros Sefcovic said in the Lithuanian capital on Thursday.
