Five key objects in the biggest city in Latin America will light up in yellow, green and red, including the Sao Paulo municipality building, the biggest viaduct in the city center Viaduto do Cha, the city's signature bridge Ponte Estaiada and the Flags Bridge across the River Tiete, as well as the monument to flags next to the city's biggest Ibirapuera Park.

"Participation of the city of Sao Paulo with population of over 12 million people in the Lithuanian centennial anniversary is the best proof of friendly bilateral relations, which are fostered by Lithuania's consulate general set up in Sao Paulo five years ago and the second-largest Lithuanian community (after Chicago)," says Lithuania's Consul General in Sao Paulo Laura Tupe.

This year, Lithuania marks 100 years since restoration of statehood when the Council of Lithuania declared a restored state on Feb. 16 of 1918.
