According to independent electricity supplier Elektrum Lietuva, wholesale electricity prices in Lithuania and Latvia rose by 23% to EUR 142.58/MWh on 21-27 August, compared with the previous week. In Estonia, wholesale electricity price soared by 93% to EUR 153.39/MWh.

The biggest solar farm that will be built to date in Lithuania and the Baltics has been presented to the public. When the construction is fully finalised, the solar farm operated by European Energy will have a capacity of 65 MW(ac), the company said in a press release.

The Baltic and Finnish natural gas price index BGSI fell below the EUR 30/MWh threshold at the end of May, with the monthly BGSI reaching EUR 37.20/MWh. This is the first time that gas prices have been this low since the start of the energy crisis, reports natural gas exchange operator GET Baltic.
