Representatives of Vilnius City Municipality told BNS Lithuania they plan over the next two weeks to turn to the Polish Embassy in Lithuania as well as the Lithuanian Embassy in Poland or the Foreign Ministry for help in informing relatives.

"Relations with Poland are thawing, therefore, we try to inform people about tending to graves. We will try to do that via the embassies," Povilas Poderskis, head of administration at Vilnius municipality, told BNS Lithuania.

Vilnius authorities said earlier that almost 350 graves will be tended to, with 141 of them officially recognized at cultural heritage.

Rasos Cemetery dates back to the late XVIII century.
