Lieutenant General Donald M. Campbell, Jr., commander of US Army Europe, has visited the American troops deployed in Rukla, Jonava District, central Lithuania, the Ministry of National Defense said on Tuesday.

The American general, Commander of the Lithuanian Land Force Major General Almantas Leika and Colonel Raimundas Vaiksnoras, commander of the Mechanized Infantry Brigade "Iron Wolf", also discussed joint training of Lithuanian and American troops.

US troops have been deployed in the Baltic states and Poland on a rotational basis since the spring in response to Russia's actions in Ukraine, in early October, US heavy combat equipment was brought to Lithuania.

According to the Ministry of National Defence, the American troops have been involved in all major training events in Lithuania and other Baltic states.
