The Lithuanian army has confirmed that United States is setting up a centre to service American troops deployed in the Baltics.

The American centre will be based in Marijampolė, western Lithuania, Captain Daugirdas Antulis from the Logistics Management Headquarters has told BNS.

The centre will store and distribute supplies used by the American troops, like spare equipment parts and office supplies, but not weaponry and ammunition.

According to Captain Antulis, first containers with supplies for the centre will arrive in Marijampolė on 19 October.
