At the invitation of Lithuanian President Dalia Grybauskaitė, Carl XVI Gustaf of Sweden and his wife Queen Silvia will arrive on an official state visit to Lithuania on 7-9 October.

Along with the royal couple, Lithuania will be visited by Sweden's ministers of foreign affairs, enterprise and innovation, and defence and the Swedish business delegation of representatives of the country's largest companies.

According to Grybauskaitė, Lithuania and Sweden are linked by close and strong relations which are based on common values and sincere friendship between the two nations. Both states, by cooperating in the areas of defence, energy, and economy and jointly promoting the development of responsible business, innovation, science and technologies, create secure and progressive Baltic Sea region, the president says in a press release.
