In October, the party would have received 18.8 percent of votes, shows a poll published in Lietuvos Rytas daily on Saturday.

Other political parties are far behind the Social Democrats on the popularity list: Order and Justice party ranks 2nd with support of 9.8 percent of respondents (down from 11.2 percent month-on-month), followed by the opposition Homeland Union – Lithuanian Christian Democrats (conservatives) with unchanged support of 8.3 percent of those polled.

Just behind the party is the Labour Party with 8.2 percent and the Liberal Movement with 6.2 percent, as compared with respective October figures of 8.5 percent and 5.9 percent, shows the survey carried out by Vilmorus public opinion and market research company on November 7-16.
