The board of the Lithuanian Social Democratic Party (LSDP) plan to discuss on Friday candidates for the post of justice minister in the new coalition government.

"I expect we will discuss this at the board's meeting tomorrow," outgoing Social Democratic Prime Minister Algirdas Butkevičius said on Žinių Radijas on Thursday morning.

Julius Pagojus, who served as a deputy justice minister in the outgoing government, had been appointed justice minister earlier this week, but he stepped down on Wednesday amid criticism over last year's incident in which he was caught by the police drunk-driving.
