Lithuania's parliament on Thursday approved former health minister Rimantė Šalaševičiūtė as chairwoman of the parliamentary Social Affairs and Labour Committee, Agnė Širinskienė of the Farmers and Greens Union as the head of the Committee on Legal Affairs and another LFGU MP Asta Kubilienė as head of the Health Affairs Committee.

The designations were approved by 87 votes in support, with two votes against and 26 abstentions.

The changes are due to the split of the Lithuanian Social Democratic Party.
