In the Latvian capital, Pranckietis will see the country's President Raimonds Vejonis and Parliamentary Speaker Inara Murniece, his spokeswoman said.

The solemn celebration of the centennial anniversary will take place at the Riga Philharmonic Society.

This year marks 100 years since Lithuania restored its statehood – on Feb. 16 of 1918, the Council of Lithuania declared restoration of an independent state of Lithuania.

Latvia will celebrate its centennial anniversary in November.
