"We will take an official decision on whether we should propose impeachment against Pūkas or not. We have to vote and decide tomorrow, and this is what we will do," the commission's chairperson, MP Dovilė Šakalienė of the ruling Lithuanian Farmers and Greens Union, told BNS.

Before the vote, the commission plans to question MP Petras Gražulis, a member of the Order and Justice party's group, who has earlier refused to testify to the commission, view unedited video materials that may contain a possible harassment episode.

The impeachment commission is to provide its conclusion by May 1. The draft resolution to terminate or start the impeachment proceedings is made by simple majority of votes of MPs present in plenary.

If the commission's conclusion is endorsed in parliament, the lawmakers turn to the Constitutional Court for a conclusion whether the person's actions run counter to the country's main law.

Pūkas faces impeachment following media reports about his possible sexual harassment during job interviews. A few young women have turned to the Prosecutor General's Office, an investigation has been opened into the suspicions.
