The foreign ministry will summon Russian ambassador to Estonia Yuri Merzlyakov on Tuesday and will hand him over a protest note, Estonian defence forces headquarters announced.

The plane entered the Estonian air space in the area of the Vaindloo Island, in the depth of around 1.2 nautical miles and stayed in Estonia's airspace for about one minute.

The plane's transporter was switched on and a flight plan had been submitted in advance, according to which the plane had to fly in international air space.
