"The conflict, which has been ongoing for 11 years, is one of the best examples of Russian state's behavior towards its neighbors, (which includes) land annexation, aggression against civilians, economic embargoes or even logistical blockades," the organizers said.

In the wake of the August 2008 war, Moscow recognized the independence of the Georgian breakaway republics of South Ossetia and Abkhazia.

Russia has deployed thousands of its troops at military bases in the regions that are considered by the international community as Georgia's territories occupied by Russia.
