A strategy on how members of the public will be preventively tested for the coronavirus is now being drafted and will be presented next week, Lithuanian Health Minister Aurelijus Veryga said on Friday.

"Next week, we will have drafted and will present a general strategy on how we plan to test the public in the future. And probably the logic will be as follows: not to test the whole group but to pick two or three people, knowing how fast the disease spreads," the minister told a press conference on Friday.

The Health Ministry said on Thursday that from now on tests at mobile test points in Lithuania will only be done for people who absolutely need to be tested. And those willing to be tested preventively will be able to do so at their policlinics or hospitals.

The rules for that Veryga plans to present next week.
