Every third Lithuanian purchased something online last year and every second used the internet to look for information about goods and services, statistics show.

ALthough online shopping is not as popular in Lithuania as in the rest of Europe, it is on the rise.

Lithuania boasts one of the fastest and low-priced internet networks on the continent, which, experts say, can help boost online commerce.

In particular, it has been on the rise among residents of rural areas.

Most Lithuanian shoppers make use of foreign online shops. The sum of money they are spending online has also been growing.
