Algirdas Genevičius took office on Friday as Deputy Minister of Environment. He will oversee waste, pollution prevention, water and the European Union support administration areas.

According to the Ministry of Environment, Genevičius previously worked as deputy director of the Housing Energy Saving Agency. Genevičius, 62, graduated from Vilnius University specialising in industrial economy and management, he had owned a construction business and headed several companies.
