"I am asking you to carefully observe all safety requirements. Wash your hands, keep a distance of two meters, wear masks in public places (and) maintain your social contacts remotely," he posted on Facebook.
"Stay home if you feel at least one symptom of a cold. Refrain from major family gatherings on the Velines (All Souls) weekend."
Nauseda noted that with the coronavirus spreading at an alarming rate, everyone can become a carrier of COVID-19 and put the lives of other people in danger.
"Each of us can contribute to ensuring that hospitals do not run out of space for those seriously ill," the president said.
"It is still possible for us to celebrate Christmas and New Year with the second wave of the pandemic put on a downward trajectory. Let's take this opportunity!" he added.
Many Lithuanians usually go to cemeteries to put up candles on the tombs of their loved ones on All Saints' Day or All Souls' Day. Some use the occasion to meet their relatives.
November 1 and 2 are public holidays in the country this year.
