Some 20.4 percent of respondents said in late February they would vote for Nausėda.

Another 11.7 percent would support Kaunas Mayor Visvaldas Matijošaitis and 9.3 percent named Prime Minister Saulius Skvernelis as their choice for president.

Nauseda topped a similar poll in December with 15.6 percent, followed by Skvernelis with 11.3 percent and Matijosaitis with 10.9 percent.

In the latest poll, MP Ingrida Šimonytė is in fourth place with 5.6 percent, followed by Vygaudas Ušackas, the EU's former ambassador to Moscow, at number five with 5.5 percent.

Further down the list are MPs Naglis Puteikis and Žygimantas Pavilionis, MEP Antanas Guoga, European Commissioner Vytenis Povilas Andriukaitis, and Vilniaus Mayor Remigijus Šimašius.

Some 13.3 percent of those polled said they did not know who they would vote for and another 14.8 percent said that would not vote at all.

Spinter Tyrimai polled 1,006 people aged between 18 and 75 years on Feb. 19-27.
