"I've just read the answers that were made publicly available. The key fact is that no pre-trial investigation is being opened. As to irregularities identified, I want to read FNTT's conclusion. I'll ask them to send it to me," Skvernelis told reporters on Tuesday.

"I believe I'll make my decision after I receive the final conclusion. Apparently, this will happen tomorrow," he added.

The Lithuanian Financial Crime Investigation Service (FNTT) has said in a response to opposition lawmakers that it will not launch a pre-trial investigation into Markauskas' farming practices, although it has found possible irregularities.

Markauskas reiterated that there were no grounds for him to resign.

The minister admitted committing an infringement, but said that it was negligent.
