Under the World Anti-Doping Code and Lithuania's anti-doping rules, athletes are required to provide exact information on their location and comply with the requirements applicable to their location. Such information must be submitted to the Anti-Doping Administration & Management System (ADAMS).

Doping control officers failed to find Meilutyte at a designated address within one hour on April 22 and August 19, 2018 and on March 28 this year.

At the age of 15, Meilutyte won a gold medal at the London Olympics. She has won 20 golden medals, 10 silver and one bronze medal at major international competitions.
