"We will attempt settling three matters, which are important for our economic cooperation and business. The first will be finalizing exports certificates for Lithuanian meat and eggs," Grybauskaitė said in an interview broadcast on the national radio LRT on Monday.

According to a press release circulated by the President's Office, this would open access to new markets across the Persian Gulf region. Currently, Lithuanian companies export grain, dairy and fish products, however, the market has been closed to meat and eggs due to specific requirements.

On the visit, the Lithuanian president will be accompanied by foreign and energy ministers along with a delegation of businessmen.

According to data provided by Statistics Lithuania, mutual trade turnover between Lithuania and the United Arab Emirates was around 82 million euros, including nearly 77 million euros in Lithuania's exports.
