Lithuania's Foreign Minister Linas Linkevičius has congratulated the new Polish diplomacy chief, Grzegorz Schetyna, on assuming office.

In a telephone conversation on Tuesday, Linkevičius said that the two neighboring countries should continue to work together on strengthening the Eastern Partnership, continuing to implement energy projects and to ensure regional security, the Lithuanian Foreign Ministry said.

Linkevičius invited Schetyna to visit Lithuania. The two foreign ministers plan to meet at the European Union's (EU) Foreign Affairs Council in Luxembourg.
