"Yes, the minister has been hospitalized on Santariškės Clinics because of disorders of the digestive tract. We cannot provide any more information," Gitana Letukienė has told DELFI.

Požela apparently fell ill while on vacation.

DELFI has reported, citing unofficial sources, that Požela's condition is "very serious" and that he has been diagnozed with acute pancreatitis.

The 34-year-old member of the Social Democratic Party was appointed to head the Ministry of Healthcare in spring this year.
