"I do not want to be an obstacle for the Culture Ministry to work on the projects it has started, also, I do not want to become a tool in those political intrigues that would destroy the trust in the political party which delegated me or the minister who appointed me. Thus, I feel obliged to leave my office. I would like to thank the Labour Party and the minister for their trust," he said.

Culture Minister Šarūnas Birutis says that he will sign the deputy's letter of resignation. According to him, the move of Vigelis is very respectable.
