The explosion occurred at the entrance to the airport base at 6 AM (local time) on Sunday.

"Lithuanian troops say the explosion shattered a few windows of the near-by residential container of the National Support Element of the Lithuanian army," the ministry said in a press release.

Currently, eight Lithuanian NSE soldiers serve in Kabul.

Dozens of soldiers of the Lithuanian Special Operations unit are deployed in southern Afghanistan.
