Since 5 May, a group of staff officers from the Joint Staff of the Lithuanian Armed Forces is taking part in a command post exercise (CPX) Trident Jaguar 2015 of the UK-led Headquarters Allied Rapid Reaction Corps (ARCC) in composition of the Danish Division in Norway, Lithuania's Ministry of National Defence reports.

This exercise will certify the several-month long preparation of the ARCC to be the operational headquarters for land operations of the NATO Response Force from this July.

This computer-simulated training is located in the NATO Joint Warfare Centre in Stavanger. The several hundred of officers participating in the exercise are focussing on the coordination of actions in a staff of a combined force. The exercise scenario encompasses action on land, at sea and in the air.

At the CPX the staff of the Danish Division including the Lithuanian officers is planning tactical level operations involving the available capabilities (Danish, Lithuanian, Latvian and Estonian brigades). Latvian officers from the Joint Staff and Latvia's motorised brigade are also taking part in the exercise as part of the headquarters of the Danish Division.

Headquarters Allied Rapid Reaction Corps is a NATO high readiness corps headquarters established in 1992 in Germany and moved to the United Kingdom in August 2010.

Headquarters Allied Rapid Reaction Corps (ARCC) is led by the United Kingdom, 60 percent of its personnel is made up by British troops. This international NATO division involves 15 states: Belgium, Canada, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Greece, Italy, USA, Latvia, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, France, Germany and Turkey.
