Lithuanian Seimas Speaker Loreta Graužinienė is leaving for Riga to take part in a meeting of Nordic and Baltic parliamentary speakers in the Nordic-Baltic Eight (NB8) cooperation format.

The parliamentary speakers of Finland, Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Iceland, Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia are meeting to discuss political, economic, migration, security and counter-terrorism developments and challenges in Europe, as well as regional cooperation in enhancing energy security and cyber security, the Seimas' public relations office said in a press release on Friday.

NB8 is a regional co-operation format that includes Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Iceland, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway, and Sweden. The countries have cooperated in various areas and at different political levels since 1992. Each year, a different country coordinates the NB8 agenda on a rotating basis.
