Lithuanian Prime Minister Algirdas Butkevičius on Friday congratulated Moldova's new pro-European Prime Minister Valeriu Strelet on his appointment and formation of a new Cabinet.

According to the Lithuanian Government's statement, Butkevičius stressed in his letter of congratulation that Lithuania will continue being Moldova's trusted partner in strengthening democracy and promoting international cooperation as well as pursuing common goals for the well-being of the to nations.

The Parliament of Moldova endorsed the country's new government on Thursday after 52 out of 101 lawmakers voted for the government program.

Strelet has said European integration will be the new government's key goal.

Moldova managed to form a new government only last week when the Alliance for European Integration was formed, having 52 seats in the parliament. It includes Liberal Democratic Party, Liberal Party, Democratic Party.
