"Lithuania remains concerned about gross violations of human rights and international humanitarian law, the growing rate of hatred, discrimination and propaganda in eastern Ukraine. The international community must take all possible measures to hold those responsible for the violations of international law to account," said Germanas.

Situation in Ukraine and the measures to ensure the recovery and stability of the country's economy were discussed in the meeting with Nicholas Davis, the Director for Europe at the World Economic Forum (WEF). The deputy minister also suggested the WEF to invite Lithuanian artists to participate in its cultural programmes.

At the meeting with Assistant Secretary-General for Human Rights Ivan Simonovic, Germanas thanked him on behalf of Lithuania for the attention given to Ukraine. The deputy minister called on Simonovic to continue focusing on human rights situation in Ukraine, including issues related to future activity of the UN Human Rights Monitoring Mission in Ukraine and prospects of its financing.

Germanas and Yves Daccord, director-general of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), exchanged views on providing humanitarian assistance to Ukraine, where the contribution of the ICRC was highlighted.
