Green energy company Modus energija has installed a 5.7 MW solar panel farm in Belarus which is the largest in the region.

The farm will be able to annually produce 6.27 m. kWh of electricity which is enough to supply electricity for 3,000 households for a whole year. The total investments in the project was €9.56 million.

Over 22,000 solar modules have been installed in a 15 ha area and Modus energy estimate that by replacing fossil fuels for electricity generation the farm will avoid 2,270 tons of CO2 emissions.

Half of the funds necessary for the project were provided by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), the rest has been invested by Modus energija.
