"Currently, around 200 soldiers and employees are ill with COVID-19," the military told BNS on Thursday.

All cases are either asymptomatic or with mild symptoms, with not a big clusters registered at military units, they said.

About 40 military personnel are currently assisting epidemiologists at the National Public Health Center (NPHC) in tracing contacts of those infected with COVID-19 and entering data into the systems.

Twenty-five soldiers are expected to start helping the 1808 coronavirus hotline service to handle calls.
