The heads of museums, libraries, theaters and concert halls in Lithuania will be appointed for a five-year term of office.

The Seimas passed the respective legislative amendments on Wednesday.

The first term of office for the current heads of museums and libraries who were appointed for an indefinite period would end on June 30, 2023.

A good repute requirement will also be introduced for the heads of cultural institutions.
