An international rescue exercise is starting in the Kelmė district, northern Lithuania, on Tuesday where Lithuanian, Latvian and Estonian officers will work on their skills to manage flood effects.

The international practical field training will include two teams, a team of the three-country civil security module BaltFloodCombat (15 rescuers) and a joint Lithuanian-Latvian technical support and assistance team of 20 people trained this year. The number of participants should total at about 70.

Under the scenario, the rescuers will arrive at the alleged country of Latlitland, which is in a catastrophic situation in the wake of heavy and prolonged rainfall and flooding.
