Lithuania's Foreign Ministry on Thursday handed a diplomatic note to Belarus over violation of its airspace, calling to explanation over the incident and urging to prevent such incidents in the future.

The note was handed to Charge D'Affaires Liudmila Tatarinovich, as the ambassador is currently not in Vilnius.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania urged Belarus to provide explanations over the incident and take all the necessary measures to prevent such incidents from occurring again in the future, the ministry said in a press release.
