Lithuanian President Dalia Grybauskaitė said that “The strength of Lithuanian armed forces has always been in the self sacrifice and determination of its soldiers. It helped to overcome a far stronger adversary more than once. Today we take the responsibility of the safety of our country into our own hands. This is a signal to our partners that we are capable of acting and it is a warning to our adversaries that we are united and strong.”
