Twenty-five individuals, 20 Lithuanians and five Norwegians, have been detained. They have been charged with trafficking drugs from Lithuania to Norway, Lithuania's Border Guard Service said.

The drugs made in Lithuania, amphetamine and methamphetamine, were being transported to Norway by Lithuanian nationals living in the Nordic country. They would then sell them wholesale to local drug dealers.

The drug trafficking was handled by a group from Ukmergė, Lithuania, according to the police.

The international operation to bust the ring was launched in October 2014. Up to 54kg of drugs had been trafficked hidden in the fuel tanks of cars.
