He also vows to ensure that the share of positive coronavirus tests does not exceed 5 percent and the number of cases stays below 200.

"The first thing is that we will do everything to identify and trace those people who have been identified as having had contact, to isolate them over the next 48 hours. The existing situation is different as it's done within three to four days at best," Dulkys told a press conference at the parliament on Friday.

He also plans to ensure that the share of positive tests does not exceed 5 percent without reducing testing volumes.

"We have a dangerous situation right now as that figure now exceeds 20 percent. And we will accordingly do everything for that daily case rate to stay below 200. Today, as you know, we have a situation that on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday we had record-high days this week when that figure exceeded 3,000," he underlined.

The minister-designate also vows "to do everything" for one hundred people not to infect more than one hundred other people.

"It means that the so-called effective virus reproduction rate PER not to exceed 1. We currently have 1.2-1.3," he said.

Dulkys underlined that once the three these goals are achieved, that would allow saying that "we are back to the situation when we can control it".
