According to a press release by the president's office, Grybauskaitė and the new ambassador discussed the refugee crisis - the strengthening of the protection of European external borders and the external border management agency Frontex, as well as the possibility of setting up joint EU border guard forces.

Grybauskaitė underlined Hungary's important contribution to Lithuania's security through the Baltic air policing mission and NATO Force Integration Unit. During the meeting, views were also exchanged on relevant bilateral issues and positive trends in economic relations between Lithuania and Hungary.

In 1989, Jancsi started to work at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs where he held various positions. He served in the Prime Minister's Cabinet and was director for NATO and EU affairs at the Hungarian National Security Service. Before his appointment to Lithuania, Jancsi was consul in Bulgaria and Australia and ambassador to the United Arab Emirates.
