French President Emmanuel Macron plans to visit Lithuania next year, President Dalia Grybauskaitė said after meeting with her French counterpart in Tallinn on Thursday.

"We agreed to meet in Lithuania next year!" Grybauskaitė wrote on her Facebook page and posted a photo showing her speaking to Macron.

Živilė Didžgalvienė, an advisor to the Lithuanian president, confirmed to BNS that the heads of state had spoken about a visit, but added that an exact date was yet to be set.

Macron and Grybauskaitė on Friday are taking part in an EU summit in the Estonian capital.
