Former Lithuanian Minister of Finance and now deputy chair of the central Bank of Lithuania Ingrida Šimonytė has decided against running for Vilnius mayor.

She told BNS on Friday her decision was determined by personal reasons.

Following her decision, MP Mantas Adomėnas will now be the Homeland Union–Lithuanian Christian Democrats' candidate in the forthcoming mayoral elections.
