Sireika is currently the head coach of Juventus Utena. He was the head coach of the Lithuanian national men's basketball team that won the European championship in Sweden in 2003.

Olympic discus throwing champion Virgilijus Alekna had intended to run for parliament with the social democrats, but later dropped the plans.
