The Lithuanian Foreign Ministry said on Wednesday that over 13,000 users had downloaded its mobile application for travelers, named Travel Safely, in two months.

Since the launch of the app, more than 400 people have opted to register their trips, a function that allows directly contacting registered travelers in a crisis situation.

Travel Safely gives users access to continuously updated security recommendations and visa information for all countries, as well as real-time warnings about crises in the world.

The app also offers an interactive checklist to help prepare for a trip, as well as consular information for travelers and those living abroad.

In the event of a crisis, the ministry can use the app to send push notifications to its users.
