The European Parliament will next week discuss the report published by the United States Senate earlier this week about detention of suspected terrorists in secret CIA centres, including one allegedly on the Lithuanian soil.

"The US Senate report on the CIA program should be discussed on Wednesday afternoon," the EP press service confirmed BNS on Thursday.

On Tuesday, the US Senate published a report on CIA detention and interrogation programme, saying that suspected terrorists were tortured in secret detention centres overseas.

However, the document does not specify any countries. Human rights advocates say that a detention site, referred to as "violet" in the redacted report, might have operated in Antaviliai near the Lithuanian capital Vilnius in 2005-2006.
