The Parliamentary Committee on Social Affairs and Labour is working out the final details of the social model package that would liberalise labour laws and reform the Sodra pension scheme, said Kristina Miškinienė, the head of the committee, on Žinių Radijas.

“We have finished discussing the proposals of which we had around 600. This is our first cycle. There were some items postponed during the consideration to which we should return. We had long discussions with the ministry, with the authors of the draft, they said they need more time,” Miškinienė said.

This week, ministries will prepare corrections and next week the draft should be completed.

The parliament adopted reform package in October for consideration. The model prepared by the government would liberalise labour relations and reorganise the Sodra pension scheme. The discussions on the social model will continue in the spring session in parliament which will begin on March 10.
