Danish ambassador to Lithuania Dan E. Frederiksen has said he hopes that the meeting will be useful to both sides and will encourage an even closer cooperation. Mr. Frederiksen said, “Defence and security is a very important sphere when talking about cooperation between such good neighbours as Denmark and Lithuania. To defend ourselves and avoid threats to our security we have to cooperate closely on strategic and organising levels.”
Gintaras Šatkus, the head of the Lithuanian Defence and Security Industry Association, said that “the guests have stressed that innovative, high value developing and high-tech companies dominate in the Danish defence industry. There are many examples when science and business join to create great products and services. I think that in this aspect we are similar: even though Lithuania is not a big country and not always knows how to promote its achievements, it also has many progressive companies creating exclusive products, providing services all around the world.”
The Danish Defence and Security Industries Association's visit to Vilnius has been organised by the Danish Embassy to Lithuania. Danish business delegation visits were planned to all three Baltic states.
