According to Chairman of the Central Electoral Commission (VRK) Zenonas Vaigauskas, the election in the district will be held together with municipal elections. 1 March next year has been proposed as the election day.

The leader of the LLRA, Valdemar Tomaševski, has confirmed to the daily Lietuvos ZŽinios that the party will nominate Renata Cytacka.
