Ratings of Lithuania's political parties remain stable, with the first place taken by the opposition Homeland Union – Lithuanian Christian Democrats (conservatives), followed by the ruling Lithuanian Farmers and Greens Union and the Order and Justice party just ahead of the Social Democrats, shows a Vilmorus poll published in the Lietuvos Rytas daily on Saturday.

Vladas Gaidys, CEO at the Vilmorus polling company, the popularity of the conservatives saw a slight increase over the month, LFGU were stable after losing half of its electorate over the past year.

"The conservatives are supported by 17.8 percent of the residents and 29.2 percent of those voting. I must say that the ratings of the conservatives observe stable growth since January of 2017. It also went up this month, giving them a strong position in the first place. They observe constant beautiful growth. The ratings of the Farmers and Greens Union has been stable since September, the party has support of 14 percent of the population and 23 percent the voting share," Gaidys told BNS.

According to the January poll, the conservatives would secure votes of 17.8 percent of respondents, the LFGU would have 13.9 percent, while the Social Democrats would be supported by 83 percent and the Liberal Movement would get votes of 4 percent of those polled.

The number of undecided respondents stands at 21.3 percent in January, down from 22.1 percent a month ago.

The survey was conducted by Vilmorus polling company on Jan. 12-21 for the daily newspaper Lietuvos Rytas.
